BOAT & FUN BERLIN launches ‘Don't be Afraid of the Water’ campaign to attract young people
40 clubs from Berlin and Brandenburg and 16 regional and national associations invite children and young people to participate free of charge and try out numerous water activities
Berlin, 12 May 2015 – Sailing, water skiing, wakeboarding, surfing, kite surfing, canoeing, kayaking, riding motorboats, sailing rubber dinghies, rowing, stand up paddling, lifesaving courses, diving, fishing, canoeing, canoe polo, dragon boat paddling: these are the many water sports activities promoted by the ’DON’T BE AFRAID OF THE WATER’ campaign which is organised by BOAT & FUN BERLIN.
Since the season of water sports began this spring and up until it ends in October around 40 water sports clubs from Berlin and Brandenburg and 16 regional and national associations are inviting schoolchildren of every age to participate free of charge. In the ten years since its launch this initiative supporting young people has succeeded in getting hundreds of children and young people onto the water. The ’DON’T BE AFRAID OF THE WATER’ campaign aims to inspire an enduring fascination with water sports.
Launched by the Berlin boating exhibition, the campaign is organised in cooperation with the Berlin Senate Department of Education, Youth and Science and is under the patronage of the Brandenburg Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.
On Thursday, 26 November 2015 children and teachers keen on water sports will be able to take part in the Schools’ Day and be admitted free of charge to BOAT & FUN BERLIN.
How to register
The menu item ’TRAU DICH’ on the BOAT & FUN BERLIN website introduces all the water sports clubs involved in the campaign. All that interested children or parents need do is contact a club nearby, whose youth coaches will provide exact dates.
