Wake Masters event at Tempelhofer Hafen from 31 May to 6 June 2015

Next event in this series in Berlin will take place from 26 to 29 November 2015 at BOAT & FUN BERLIN

Berlin, 29 May 2015 – From 31 May to 6 June 2015 Germany's best wakeboarders will be gathering at Tempelhofer Hafen. A mobile water skiing facility will be the venue for spectacular wakeboarding displays as well as the place attracting visiting wakeboarders. The high point of the event will take place on 5 and 6 June when members of Germany’s wakeboarding elite will pit their skills against each other in the Wake Masters team competition. The teams, comprising two male and female wakeboarders each, will compete for the coveted title with breathtaking stunts and high jumps.

Once again, water-skiing clubs from all over Germany can nominate their best two athletes for the team competition at the mobile water skiing facility at Tempelhofer Hafen. A big prize awaits the winning team, one that any ambitious wakeboarder would want, namely a ’kicker’ from Shape Obstacles worth 4,000 euros. Local competitors from Berlin including Janick Otto, who came third in the European Championships, and Moritz Thiele, who is currently the wakeskating world champion, will be doing everything to ensure their home advantage secures victory. Registered participants include an all-female team, one of whom is Marie Grüneberg from Zossen in Brandenburg who is only 13 years old.

Aside from the professional competition taking place on 5 and 6 June all visitors are invited to try out their wakeboarding skills free of charge and under the guidance of a professional instructor. Applications are requested under www.tempelhofer-hafen.com/aktuelles/wake-masters. The only requirement is that participants must be able to swim. All they need to bring along is a towel and bathing suit. Boards, neoprene suits, life vests and helmets will be supplied directly.

After the opening summer event the Wake Masters will be guesting in Munich and Hamburg in August und September respectively. The Wake Masters 2015 season finale will be taking place from 26 to 29 November, once again in Berlin, where Germany’s wakeboarding elite will be gathering at the country’s largest pool for special events at BOAT & FUN BERLIN, the Berlin boating exhibition.
