Berlin, 21 November 2017 – Where can one enjoy water sports in winter? Only at BOAT & FUN BERLIN, which will open with the BOAT GALA on the evening of Wednesday, 22 November 2017. This is where, from Thursday, 23 to Sunday, 26 November, more than 700 exhibitors from 16 countries will be showing their products and services in 12 halls. With over 600 boats, this year’s edition will display more brands and models than ever before, showcasing affordable dream craft in the heart of Europe's largest region for water sports activities. They include spectacular sailing boats, sloeps, a new boating trend, the latest motor yachts, as well as stylish classic yachts. A hall devoted to houseboats, a second-hand boat market and a hall featuring equipment and accessories will round off the exhibition. Fun water sports including wakeboarding, surfing, diving and stand up paddleboarding will also be represented. And for visitors who love nature there will also be canoe, kayak, camping and fishing displays at BOAT & FUN BERLIN.
Why not try out the water...
For those who enjoy their spare time either in or on the water there will be more than just displays at BOAT & FUN BERLIN 2017. Instead, visitors can try out their own skills. Introductory wakeboarding courses will be on offer at the 1,000 square-metre special events pool in Hall 21a. This is where visitors can also test their coordination and balancing skills at stand up paddleboarding (SUP) and SUP polo. In contrast, activities will be more relaxed at the new testing pool in Hall 25, where SUP yoga and stand up paddleboarding for senior citizens will be on offer. Those with sporting ambitions can attempt to match the feeling of surfing in Hawaii. In the pool in Hall 23a they can test the handling qualities of kayaks and canoes, and in the Fly-Casting Area in Hall 22b visitors can practise fly tying and fly-fishing. Measuring 14 metres in length and holding 23,000 litres of water, the Bait Truck is Europe’s largest mobile aquarium and this year will be a special attraction for fishing enthusiasts. This is where professional anglers will be demonstrating their baiting skills without hooks.
Dream craft in every category and price class
Regardless of whether visitors prefer the wind in their sails or the sound of a motorboat, there is something for everyone’s taste at BOAT & FUN BERLIN. In the Motorboat and Motor Yacht sections participation will be higher than ever before.
