Boat testing for everyone: Mercury Experience Days inspire in Werder an der Havel

Powerful start to the water sports season with Mercury Marine and BOAT & FUN: the world's only boat and Mercury engine test event is coming to Werder (Havel) on 4 and 5 May 2024. Book online now and take part: free test drives in around 50 boats with Mercury engines from 750 watts (electric) to 500 hp.

Berlin/Werder (Havel), 2 April 2024 - Push the lever forward - feel the boat slowly pick up speed and glide over the glistening water. The gentle breeze in your hair, accompanied by the roar of the engine and the lapping of the water. Anyone whose heart beats faster at this idea should mark 4 and 5 May 2024 in their calendar: Because on the first weekend in May, Werder an der Havel will not only be characterised by tree blossom, but also by water sports. The Mercury Experience Days - the world's only boat and Mercury engine test event - is coming to the Havel floodplains in Werder: on 4 and 5 May 2024 - just in time for the start of the season - you can experience what engines between 750 watts (electric) and 500 hp feel like on and in the water in the middle of Europe's largest inland and water sports area. After last year's successful premiere in Düsseldorf, the Mercury Experience Days are coming to the capital region this year. Mercury Marine, the world's largest manufacturer of boat engines for leisure boats, has teamed up with BOAT & FUN for the event.

The Mercury Experience Days are the test event for recreational boats with Mercury engines and offer water sports enthusiasts, lovers and experts from the maritime world - as well as interested boat newcomers - the exclusive opportunity to test and experience the latest innovations from Mercury Marine in the water. Around 50 boats - from electric to classic motorised - will be available for free test drives on the jetties of the marina in the Havelauen. These include the latest models from international boat brands such as Bavaria, Flipper, Hydrolift, Iron, Jeanneau, Karnic, Nordkapp, Quicksilver, Sea Ray and Terhi. In addition to the major boat brands, unique models will also be available for testing on the pontoons, such as the Chica racing boat with Berlin-based motorboat racer Hagen Jerzynski, the Raffshore 820 racing boat or the striking one-offs from the Kaiser boat manufacturer. A complete overview of all brands and models is available online at www.mercurymarine.com/mercury-experience-days. All listed boats can be booked in advance online via the website for half-hour test drives on Saturday and Sunday. A boating licence is not required as all boats are steered by a skipper.

"With our Mercury Experience Days, we want to show how much fun water sports can be," says Matthias Müller, Country Manager DE/Benelux/CH for Mercury Marine. "We are not only addressing experienced boaters, but also those who have always wanted to know what water sports feel like. The simple online booking process reduces the barriers to registering for this event." Müller adds: "It's no coincidence that we chose Werder an der Havel in the capital region around Berlin this year. We want to present our Avator electric motor family, which was only launched in 2023, and thus also focus on the green water region. We are particularly pleased that our dealers have responded to our call to Werder and that we can offer a large number of boats for testing here. It really wasn't possible to have more boats here - we even had to put off dealers until next year."

Mercury Marine has teamed up with BOAT & FUN for the test event in the capital region: "It is important to us to continuously develop the diverse range of BOAT & FUN. Daring and trying out new things is fundamental for us. We are therefore delighted to have won the Mercury Experience Days, an exciting test event for water sports fans, for the capital region. In the centre of Europe's largest inland and water sports area, the latest boats and engines can be tested directly in their element at the start of the season. These include numerous models that were on display at BOAT & FUN BERLIN last November," says Daniel Barkowski, project manager of BOAT & FUN. "Alongside the lifestyle event in the Havel floodplains of Werder - BOAT & FUN INWATER at the end of August - and the big season finale in the exhibition halls under the Funkturm Berlin - BOAT & FUN BERLIN, the Mercury Experience Days are the perfect addition to the BOAT & FUN event calendar."

In addition to the water sports activities, there will also be plenty to see on land on 4 and 5 May: Exhibitors such as Pössl (caravans), Navico with navigation technology and yacht insurer Pantaenius will be providing information on the promenade. Various food trucks will provide refreshments before and after the boat trips - DJ Sebastian will provide the perfect musical backdrop.
